Off-site Backup
This program keeps track of any files added, deleted, or changed on a local machine under the local root
directory. It transfers the necessary files to and from the ftp site, makes backups of deleted files, and
checks for file collisions. Text file collision resolution is supported. All project data is stored on all client
machines as well as the ftp site, for added data security.

Instructions
This is the first step for automating data processing. Simply put all project files and directories under a root
folder, enter settings for your ftp site, and everything is ready to go.
An upgrade key is required to upload and download files to the ftp sites. The computer ID is available when
the program is first run. Submit this number using the above form.

This program is a practical replacement for CSV and SourceSafe team development tools. Ftp Update is
independent of any development environment, allowing team development of code, reports, proposals, data
processing, etc.

Automatic Data Processing
Check your computer clock to make sure it has the correct date, time, and time zone settings. The time
settings should match the clock on the seismograph or other data collection device.
Special upgrades support data processing automation. The “Zonge” button sets up file transfer to the
Zonge ftp site, and “Summit Peak” uses a mirror Summit Peak ftp site.
Click “Join” to see the list of files that need to be uploaded or downloaded.
If text files are in the project, you may click on these files to see differences. Double-click highlighted text to
move collision sections from file to file, and save if desired.
